Chris Down’s images and installations are very complex and honest. He creates spatial installations by merging and overlapping painted/drawn images sourced from popular media, family, local community events, and popular culture. Using exhibit themes reminiscent of paint-ball war arenas and industrial work sites, Down creates image field compositions that unfold a deep feeling of reverence/affiliation for the gritty underbelly of everyday life.
